Another Toronto Island Day

Ahhhhhh o verão!!!

Pois é, não é só na Bahia que acontece o verão. Toronto está fervendo, todo mundo pelas ruas, dez milhões de atividades culturais acontecendo ao mesmo tempo e é tempo também de aproveitar as coisas que deixei na gaveta no período do inverno, entre essas coisas o "Toronto Island".

Isn´t just in Bahia that has beautiful summer time. Toronto is boiling with cultural activities, people walking on the streets and festivals and it´s time to enjoy the things that were waiting since the winter time and one of them is the Toronto Island

Toronto Island é uma ilha que fica em frente à cidade de Toronto e é o melhor lugar para tirar a clássica foto de Toronto com a CNTower e o Roger Centre.

Toronto Island is in front of Toronto and it´s the best place to take the classical Toronto pictures with the CNTower and the Roger Centre.

O melhor caminho para chegar na ilha é pegar um ferryboat perto da Union Station na direção da The Guvernment. O passeio é delicioso e me lembrou muito minhas idas à Ilha de Itaparica saindo da cidade baixa. O dia estava lindo, a temperatura agradável e aproveitei para tirar mil fotos.

Eu nunca tive muita idéia do que seria o Toronto Island até chegar aqui. Na verdade, no caminho para o ferryboat encontrei um canadense muito cordial (como normalmente os canadenses são) e me explicou todos os detalhes da ilha e o melhor caminho para chegar lá, mesmo porque o ferry tem 3 caminhos a chegar na ilha. Escolhi a ilha do meio porque parecia mais interessante e por possibilitar andar até as outras pontas.

I haven´t to much idea about how is the Toronto Island. When I was going to the ferry I met one canadian who explained everything about the place and how to go there because have 3 diferents ports to arrive. I chose the middle island because it was more intresting for me and I could choose other direction to go.

O lugar é totalmente arborizado e o tempo estava perfeito. Toronto Island é ótimo para andar, relaxar anda passear de bicicleta. A unica coisa que não gostei é que só existe um ponto para alugar uma bike, e caso você queira ir para outra parte da ilha você terá que voltar para devolve-la. Mas de qualquer forma a ilha é linda e vale muito a pena passear e visita-la.

The place is totally woody, beautiful and the weather was so perfect. It´s a pretty nice place to walk, relax and cycle. One thing I didn´t like, there´re just one point to rend a bike and you need to give back the bike in the same place, that is, if you go to other part of the island you should go back to the first point (one good advice is rent the bike in the street of Toronto and go there). By the way, Toronto island is the really nice place to visit and enjoy a good time.

O ponto alto do passeio foi quando, caminhando pela ilha do meio em direção à praia passa-se por um lugar lindo, bem agradavel no qual se encontravam alguns casais e um cluma de romance que envolve até os animais. Pois é, verdade total, estava sentado admirando a paisagem até que presenciei literalmente o ganso sendo afogado. Um casal de gansos que estava no lago resolveram aquecer a temperatura, o engraçado é que na hora que o ganso macho está por cima a pobre coitada (ou feliz) da gansa é literalmente afogada. Não consegui fazer o video mas tentem achar a gansa na foto abaixo. "Afogar o ganso" se tornou para mim um dos ditados mais realistas em minha vida. A parte mais engraçada foi quando os dois após o ato consumado balançaram as assas produzindo sons que parecia de alegria.

One intresting moment happened when I was walking straight to the beaches and I found one confortable and romantic place that was nice event for the animals. In brazil we have one metaphor for sex "to drown the goose" and these animals decided show up how it is. I could´t make the video but try find the poor (or happy) goose in the pictures. The funiest part was when them finished and both roked the wings happy and making sounds.

A primeira praia que encontramos é bem legal e tinha um pier indo mar a dentro. Apesar do clima ótimo, do sol lindo e quente só consegui chegar na água até a metade da perna. Para um baiano de Salvador acostumado com uma água de mar sempre morna e com um inverno de 22 graus positivos, pegar uma água canadense ainda não é para mim. Por sinal, desde que cheguei aqui em novembro este foi o primeiro momento que puder andar sem camisa fora de minha casa (um típico comportamento baiano).

The first beach is pretty nice and has one pier going out to sea. Despite the nice weather, the sol and the worm temperature I just could go in the wather till the half part of my legs. My baiano (people from Bahia) blood used to worm sea water and with 22 degrees in the winter time, the canadian water still is too cold to me. Since I have arrived here in november this was my first day I could take out my t-shirt outside home (tipical baiano behavior).

Partindo em direção à Hanlan´s point a caminha é bem confortável com as árvores dando boa sombra e boas brisas. No caminho ainda é possível encontrar um farol e uma praia de nudismo com o uso opcional de roupa, que por sinal, é a melhor praia, a mais espaçosa e com a melhor areia (não sei dizer da água, não tive coragem novamente de enfrenta-la).

Goint to Halan´s Point the way is confortoble with the three giveng shade and good breeze. On the way you can find one lighthouse and the nude beach that is the better beach with good sand and space (I can´t talk about the water because I haden´t courage enought again). Take out the clothes is opicional.

Para fechar o dia com chave de ouro consegui ver um estonteante pôr do sol. Boas memórias em um ótimo dia.

To close the day with a beautiful end I saw a stunning sunset. Good memories, good day.
