Ontem a noite foi dia de experimentar comida turca no Alara restaurante. Tecnicamente eu já tenho comido excelentes comidas turcas visto que Ali cozinha muito bem. Mas desta vez foi dia de conhecer algumas peculiaridades culinárias incluindo uma bebida mágica, a Raki.
Yestarday was day to trying turkish food at Alara restaurant. I have eaten amazing turkish food because Ali cooks very well, but, at this time, I tryed new peculariaties culinary including the magic drink, Raki.
O restaurante fica no extremo oriente da cidade. Tivemos que pegar o metrô até a última estação e depois pegar um ônibus. Fomos tão ao oriente que ficávamos brincando que estavamos chegando no Oriente Médio para provar a comida.
The restaurant is located on the extreme side of Toronto. We took the subway until the last station and after we got on a bus. We went as far East that we thougt arriving in the Meddle East.
Ali solicitou diferentes tipos de comida, uma melhor que a outra. O gosto do tempero da comida estava deliciosa e o turco aproveitou para me contar mais uma vez que a famosa "salada grega" na verdade é turca, visto que os gregos roubaram a receita e mudaram o nome, uma atitude que ele diz ter acontecido com outras receitas também.
ALi ordered a lot diferents kind of food for us, one better than toher. The taste was amazing and the turkish guy told me again that the greek famous salad in real is turkish food. The greeks changed the name of some turkish food a long time ago and tell anyone that are greek food.
A parte da bebida foi bem divertida e diferente. Ali estava muito animado em poder voltar a beber a tradicional bebida do seu país, a Raki. Mas bebemos também uma outra bebida vermelha chamada Salgam. A comida turca tem algo de muito especial, pois o gosto da comida é bem proeminente mas quando você mistura diferentes pratos e diferentes bebidas o sabor passa a fazer mais sentido e se torna ainda mais saborosa.
Drink turkish beverege was very fun. Ali was very excited to goes back to drink his tradicional beverege, the Raki. But we drunk to another red one called Salgam. The turkish food is very special because the taste of all foods are strong but when you make a mix in your mounth with diferentes foods and drinks your can understand better the flavour.
Chegada a hora de provar a Raki. Ali fez uma pequena mágica com a bebida antes de me fazer conhecer o sabor dela. A Raki é uma bebida transparente que você precisa misturar 1/3 dela com 2/3 de água. O interessante é que quando acontece a mistura a bebida muda de cor, deixando de ser transparente para ser um branco leitoso.
Before drunk the Raki Ali did a magic. Raki is a transparent drink that you need mixer 1/3 of this drink with 2/3 of water. This is interesting because the color change to white, very similiar as milk color and texture.
A bebida tem um gosto forte como já tinha sido prevenido e lembra muito absinto. Na hora de beber não podia faltar a saudação turca: Aska, paraya, sexse, tum dostlara, Butun oruspu cocuklarina, Serefe (Por amor, por dinheiro, por sexo, pelos melhores amigos, por todos aqueles que não gosto, saúde). Esta saudação é mais comum em Adana, a cidade de Ali.
The taste of the beverage is strong as I knew and remember absinth. Before drink we made the turkish greeting: Aska, paraya, sexse, tum dostlara, Butun oruspu cocuklarina, Serefe (for love, for money, for sex, for all best friends, for all mother f*%# that I hate, cheers). This greeting is most commom in Andana, Ali´s city.
Adorei ter curtido mais essa nova aventura aqui em Toronto. A cada novo passo uma nova cultura se abre e tenho aproveitado cada novo sabor.
I loved this nex experience here in Toronto. Everyday I can discover new culture and I´m enjoyung this a lot of.
